History

Even though ths website and its content is being fairly new by now, it has a long history already, which is listed below:
It all began, as I discovered the tale of Le Fantôme de l’Opéra through the novel by Susan Kay, “Phantom”, which was in 1998 or 1999.  In 2000, as I finally had internet access and tried to find out more about this tale, I quickly realized, that there are only very less websites, that cover ALL aspects of this tale and so I began.
What first began as a website about Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, changed now to a website about Christine Daaé. All things Le Fantôme de l’Opéra can still be found in the Phantom’s Dungeon.

Title: Dedicated to The PHANTOM of the OPERA
This was my very first attempt in making my homepage. It was made with the Geocities Pagebuilder. The page itself had a black background and a huge white halfmask in the middle, the menu-icons, looking like the font from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical logo, were placed around the mask. All informations it had, were based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, other musicals were listed under the menu “Other versions”.

First title: Dedicated to The PHANTOM of the OPERA
Second title: Devoted to The PHANTOM of the OPERA
This version of my page was made with Trellix, a program especially desgined for Tripod-pages. The page looked in the beginning like the one I had up on Geocities, later I made a Flash-intro on the indexpage and re-sorted the menu into a menuframe.

Title: Christine Daaé – Devoted to The PHANTOM of the OPERA
This page was the first one, I made with Frontage, after Trellix was no longer available. It was also time to improve the menu-buttons, for the first ones were made with Paintbrush, the new ones were made with Macromedia Flash. But besides this, the page looked still like the one I had up on Tripod.

URL: http://www.ChristineDaaé.com
alternate URL: http://www.xn--ChristineDaa-meb.com
First title: L’âme imortelle de Christine Daaé
Second title: L’âme vraie de Christine Daaé
Time for me, to get my first “real” domain. Sadly it was quite unwise to pick one with an accent, so I always had to use the alternate URL, which I did not like. I gave up this URL quickly. Besides the changes in the title, I began offline to build the page completely new, but did not upload it yet, so the page looked like the ones before.

URL: http://www.Daae.info
Title: L’âme vraie de Christine Daaé
After I gave up ChristineDaaé.com, I got myself Daae.info, but gave it up quickly, as a german institute wanted to have it. No changes were made in the content at that time, for I had this domain for maybe two weeks.

URL: http://www.Paris1897.com
First title: L’âme vraie de Christine Daaé
Second title: Les Notes de Christine Daaé
Third title: Christine Daaé ~ La femme vivante
Thanks to a dear friend I finally got Paris1897.com and transfered all the online content. First the website was looking like before. With the first change of the title I also began to replace the old design with the new one. So my page got the light background and the lilac font. I made a new Flash-intro for “Les Notes de Christine Daaé” as well, but it did not suit me at all – neither the intro nor the title. With the second change of the title to “Christine Daaé ~ La femme vivante”, I also changed the intro, from a Flash to a plain image. Still I used Microsoft Frontpage for the page.

URL: http://www.Goleroz.de
Title: Christine Daaé ~ La femme vivante
As I found out that the domain had to be registered new each year, I got myself with the help of Nadir Goleroz.de. Goleroz is persian and means rose, actually it would be written like this: Gol-e roz. Still using Microsoft Frontpage, I kept working on replacing the old design with the new one. Later my new admin Nadir set up a database for me, so all content was transfered into the database and I got my own admin-area. Goodbye Frontpage…

URL: http://www.ChristineDaae.de
alternate URL: http://www.Christine-Daae.de
First title: Christine Daaé ~ La femme vivante
Second title: Hommage à Christine Daaé
In a sudden mood I changed my URL again to ChristineDaae.de. Later I got Christine-Daae.de as well. First all content from Goleroz.de was transfered, but as I saw that I myself – as WebMadame! – were no longer able to navigate properly on my page, infact I used the searchbox instead of the menu, I decided it was time to start completely new, which I did. Since the URL was about Christine Daaé, I decided to make a page only for her, to pay hommage to her. Nadir installed Joomla, a CMS, and I began to setup the menu and images new. The old content will be displayed either here or on the Phantom’s Dungeon. No informations will be lost, they will just be transfered and new things will be added. Later Nadir installed a wordpress, which is easier to use than a Joomla. So re-arranged and re-did the menu and all again.

New URL: http://www.Christine-Daae.com
Remaining URL: http://www.ChristineDaae.de
Title for both pages: Hommage
Meanwhile this page had become a part of the Encyclopedia Phantasma. So the design changed to the one from the Encyclopedia Phantasma. The engish content from ChristineDaae.de got copied to Christine-Daae.com. ChristineDaae.de is supposed to be the german source, while Christine-Daae.com is the english source. So the translating started.

Plans:
It is planned to translate this page into swedish and french as well, maybe also into persian.
